Module 3: Build, Buy or Become an Associate/Employee™

Michael P. DeMeola, CPA, CFE, partner at Berryhill, Hoffman, Getsee & DeMeola, LLC, will give an informative presentation on the different types of practice ownership options and their associated tax benefits.  Additionally, he will discuss the process and components of buying and/or selling a practice.  His agenda covers the importance of understanding the business valuation process as well as the “do’s and don’ts” of practice transitioning.  Critical factors in determining how to structure a practice sale, together with an explanation of the tax implications for both the buyer and seller will be presented.

Module 4:  Business Plan 101™

Michael P. DeMeola, CPA, CFE, partner at Berryhill, Hoffman, Getsee & DeMeola, LLC will help practitioners identify the purpose and use of a business plan by presenting various spreadsheets frequently used in developing a plan.  Students are helped to estimate and develop a business plan and budget for their practice.

Module 5:  Staffing Your Practice™

Michael P. DeMeola, CPA, CFE, partner at Berryhill, Hoffman, Getsee & DeMeola, LLC will assist students with understanding various dental staffing job descriptions, functions, duties and responsibilities.  A portion of the program will be devoted to viewing a current market analysis for staff positions.

Module 6: Practice Financials and QuickBooks™

Over the course of two days Michael P. DeMeola, CPA, CFE, partner at Berryhill, Hoffman, Getsee & DeMeola, LLC gives detailed step-by-step instructions for installing and operating QuickBooks software.  By presenting basic bookkeeping and accounting concepts students are able to understand the purpose of tracking accounts payable and receivables, payroll, production and collections.  The purpose of financial statements is explained along with the importance of knowing your practice’s key financial ratios.
